Senate Race

For the past couple of days a rumor has been swirling in Nashville that Republican Senate candidate Van Hilleary was set to announce his departure from the race and throw his support to Ed Bryant.
It's not true. The Hilleary campaign says it doesn't know where this rumor started, but they assured WATE that Van is still very much in the race.

This afternoon, an e-mail circulated that Ed Bryant was calling it quits. Filled with misspellings, including even the candidate's name, the e-mail stated that Bryant is dropping out but would not endorse another candidate. He would though, the e-mail stated, continue to run ads against Bob Corker.

I spoke with the Bryant folks and their response was laughter. Asked to speculate on who was sending out the e-mail, Andrew Shulman declined.
