Owings, Schmid on Tennessee This Week

Knox County's new Law Director John Owings and Knox County Commissioner John Schmid will be our guests on Tennessee This Week Sunday.
Owings was recently appointed by Knox County Commission to fill the remaining term of his former boss, now Chancellor Mike Moyers.
Owings was busy Wednesday addressing the State Supreme Court on the issue of whether Knox County's charter is valid. He also spoke to the issue of term limits.
Owings will explain why he believes term limits should only apply to the county mayor and commission. We'll also get his thoughts on how he thinks the Court may rule.
Then in our Final Word segment, Commissioner John Schmid joins us. He's also involved in the charter lawsuit. But he argues that every elected official who's served at least two terms should be out of office, including himself. A very different point of view from Owings
Now here's a tentative schedule of guests for the next several weeks on Tennessee This Week:
September 17 - State Senator Jim Bryson, Republican candidate for Governor
September 24 - Governor Phil Bredesen
October 1 - Knox County Mayor Mike Ragsdale

We're also hopeful of bringing Mayor Bob Corker and Congressman Harold Ford, Jr. onto to the program.
