Corker on Tennessee This Week

Republican candidate for the US Senate, Bob Corker joins us on Tennessee This Week Sunday.

The former Chattanooga mayor discusses a variety of issues from the war in Iraq to his criticism of opponent Harold Ford, Jr and his family.

***There is a correction I need to make concerning the program with Mayor Corker. During the interview I mention that the Metropulse endorsed Corker. That is incorrect. Joe Sullivan, writing a column in the Metropulse, personally endorsed Corker. Metropulse is endorsing Harold Ford, Jr. My apologies.

I watched the interview and I was not impressed!! To be fair to Mr. Corker, I am not that impressed with Harold Ford either.

The thing that bothers me the most is the negative ads and the way Mr. Corker likes to brag about himself. He never says what is position is, just how great he is. At least Mr Ford does state some of his platform.

I am still undecided and leaning toward Ford, but to be truthful, I wish there was someone else to vote for!!!!!

I cannot believe that I just saw Bob Corker or CNN claiming that he has never said anything negative about Ford's family. In the recent debate in Chattanooga, Corker made it a point to disparage Ford's family connections. How can he go on national television and blatantly lie?
Does he think that integrity and honesty do not matter? The American voters need to hold politicians accountable for their words and actions.

Do you sincerely think that Bob Corker did not know that the Metro
Pulse had not endorsed him? If so, he is as mis-informed as you.
I wish you would make your correction on TV on Sunday, just like you
make your mistake!

Bob Corker's ads make it

Bob Corker's ads make it seem like Harold Ford Jr. is not from Tennessee. Harold Ford Jr. may have grew up in DC state but at the least his birth certificate says he was born in Memphis, Tennessee.This makes Harold Ford Jr. a Tennessee Boy to me. Bob Corker was born in Oraneburg, SC. Bob Corker is not a Tennessee Boy!!! Who will Bob Corker be pulling for during the Tennessee vs South Carolina game this weekend?

That is the way it usually

That is the way it usually goes. When something wrong is said everyone knows it because it is said on the air or on the front page of the newspaper. A correction is usually on the last page of the paper or on a page like this on WATE's site where not too many people will see it.

So more people probably think Metropulse endorsed Corker because Gene said it on the air Sunday, but did not have the responsible sense to his viewers to set the record straight on the air!

Sad to say, they have probably not read it here since only 6 responses have been made to this!!!!!!

I do not trust Bob Corker and I have lost respect for him. Before getting elected, he has already started stirring up discord nationally. We need someone who can bridge the gaps and bring unity among citizens. I do not want to return to the 50’s mentality.

Bob Corker appears to be a slanderer, destroyer of reputations, offensive, contradictory and a poor reflection of Tennessee.

Bob Corker says one thing with his mouth but his actions reflect otherwise. Bob Corker talks about Harold Ford in Washington DC. Yet, Bob Corker wants to represent us in Washington DC. Bob Corker talks about Harold Ford being in politics. Yet, Bob Corker has been a mayor for a short time and now wants to be senator (Politics).

Because Harold Ford did not attend school in Tennessee, he is looked upon with disgust by Corker. Again, separating anyone who has not attended school in Tennessee. I do not want this type of mentality to represent me. Tennessee needs unity not discord.

We as voters know not to believe all Ads. Yet, Bob Corker has stooped to the lowest.

Harold Ford wants change. Harold Ford has already gained respect for us nationally and internationally (global). This is not about democrats, independents or republicans. This is about the right man to represent Tennessee globally.

If I need a surgeon, I will not go to anyone (who is not a surgeon) to operate on me. I AM PROUD THAT HAROLD FORD IS A POLITICIAN. I want a politician to represent me. Why? Because this is his expertise.

Bob Corxxer is a puppet for the Oil Companies, and if he ascends to the Senate, then Tennessee will continue to contribute to the "rubber stamp" congress in the tradtion of Lame Alexander and Bill Fist. Too many Tennesseeans are worried about the wrong issues in this election. Harold Ford is focused on what will save this country, unlike Corxxer's "stay the course" feed the corporate pockets scheme.
