Get Human
Submitted by Gene Patterson on February 28, 2007 - 9:29pm
A while back I complained about contacting a local cable company with a problem and having to deal with an insane amount of recorded questions.
A number of you responded to the post with ways to avoid the dreaded recordings. But now, thanks to Mike Cohen, I have a list of phone numbers and methods to get to a human almost immediately for hundreds of companies.
Check it out here.
Thanks Mike.

I totally agree. Our office
I totally agree. Our office is probably the only one on the face of the planet that does not have voice mail and a real person answers the phone. I think a lot of large companies have recorded messages because if one finally gets to talk to a person it is somone who can't be understand because they don't speak clear English. Bill collections agencies and very large corporations like Dell are some of the worst. If I am having a problem I at least want to talk with someone who can understand me and I can understand them. Hint: In most cases if you continue to press "0" you can eventually get to a live person.
Another hint, if it's
Another hint, if it's Comcast, complain about the high prices and ask to speak with the retention department. If you hold fast, and threaten to switch to, for example, DirectTV you will receive a monthly discount, for at least six months.
