Valentine's Day
Submitted by Gene Patterson on February 13, 2007 - 10:31pm
Valentine's Day is a big deal at the Patterson home, probably yours too. One reason it's
so important is that - a number of years ago - my wife and I thought it would be a good idea to get married on February 14.
And so we did.
A number of my male friends now give me grief over the decision. It does seem a bit overly romantic. Especially for someone like me, who's not exactly Mr. Hearts and Flowers.
Still, while I might question the date, after 15 years, I'm very happy Mrs. Patterson is still Mrs. Patterson.

P.S. We got married on my birthday (best present ever!). As with Valentine's Day, this makes it highly unlikely you'll ever forget your anniversary. Maybe your male friends who give you grief could take a lesson and avoid some.

That is cool, Gene!! My sister is getting married this year on Valentine's day to a man she has been dating for over 5 years. I think it is a great day to get married.
Your male friends should not be giving you grief because at least you do not forget your anniversary (or at least I hope not.)
Congratz Gene, Not
Congratz Gene,
Not married...yet, but my other and I celebrate this day as when we first openly admitted to liking each other. V-day isn't the manliest time of the year, but us guys with gals have to stick together, grin and bear it. Happy Anny.
Happy Anniversary and VD.
