Reasons to be Thankful

I say this every year, but I can't believe the holidays are here. It seems they come faster and faster. Seriously, I'm still trying to hold on to summer and now we're just weeks away from Christmas.

On this Thanksgiving, I thought I'd reflect on the past year and reasons why I'm thankful.

From a personal perspective, I'm thankful for my family. My wife and kids and grandkids. My brothers and sisters and their kids. I'm thankful they are healthy and happy and that during these holiday times, we can all spend some time together.

Professionally, I'm thankful for my co-workers, who make it a pleasure to come to work each day. I'm blessed with a wonderful job. The stories we tell and the events we cover, impact lives. I get to be eyewitness to those events.

I get a front row seat to stories both big and small. Sad and joyous. Sometimes what we air is silly. Other times sobering. But always, I hope, worth watching.

I need to share with

I need to share with you..........a prayer request and a praise report. My son Chris, his girlfriend Tonya, and two of her girlfriends were in Hooter's last night when this happened (manager, customer shot Friday night 12/28). When they heard the gunshots, then heard a scream, they hit the floor and literally crawled on their elbows out the side patio door and ran across Kingston Pike while calling 911 and hid behind the TJMaxx shopping center until police arrived. As they were exiting the building, Tonya slipped on the wet patio and fell. Chris protectively threw himself onto her then picked her up and ushered the three girls to safety. I am so proud of my son. They are both a little scuffed up, but they are fine. Please pray for the two men who were shot......pray that they find the shooter before he harms anyone else.....and praise The Living God for protecting my kids. When Chris and Tonya entered the restaurant to eat, they casually decided to sit at a booth instead of at the bar. That small decision probably saved their lives. Thank You, LORD Jesus......Thank You. -Cindy-
