More on Petersen

UT Vice President Hank Dye says John Petersen was with Governor Bredesen last night at a scheduled function and that was why he wasn't at UT celebrating Pat Summitt's 1,000th victory.
Dye was responding to our post regarding Petersen's noticeable absence from the festivities.
"If you'd have asked me, I could have told you where he was," said Dye this morning. The post was written at midnight. I doubt he would've appreciated the call at that hour.
Still, it explains why Dr. Petersen wasn't part of the events at Thompson Boling Arena.

This turbulence over whether
This turbulence over whether Dr. Petersen dissed Pat Summit is minor league stuff. Summit is a true asset to Tennessee, but in comparison to politicians, she doesn't mean much. That sounds harsh, but think about it.
What Bredesen and the state legislature do, affect millions of lives directly ----> either financially, physically or medically. The same is true, but to a lesser degree, of our Knox County and Knoxville elected officials. What these politicians do can affect us directly and personally. When we do not involve ourselves in keeping up with politics, we do so at our own peril and possible peril to our loved ones.
I don't know much about Dr. Petersen, but his attention to the governor was well placed. In a jump ball situation between the governor and Pat Summit, Bredesen wins every time.
