Republican Wins Chair

For the first time in years -- Knox County has a Republican at the head of its Election Commission.

Chris Heagerty was elected chairman today.

Chris will be an outstanding

Chris will be an outstanding chair of the Election Commission.

All three Democrats on the commission voted for Chris which shows a bi partisan approach to elections.

Thats the way it should be.

Congratulations to these folks for getting together for the common good and for not letting partisan spin get in their way. On this local level, party distinctions should blur. When you live next to someone, rub elbows with him on your church's Pastor Search Committee, and talk with him at Walmart, it's harder to swallow the propaganda that he (and all like him) are conspiring to destroy America as we know it.

Both parties have great people in them. We're all in this together.
